Any manufacturer on a JIR policy would be wise to use Wesley's resources, contacts, and expertise to ensure their policy is being followed by the hundreds of retailers who are trying to follow the many different manufacturers spoils policies.

In the late 1990s, Tree Top spoils/reclamation costs were increasing annually at double-digit rates. After careful consideration, the decision was made to partner with Wesley Associates to manage CPG unsaleables. An Unsaleables Cost Reduction Plan was put into place and the first step was to distribute and gain acceptance for a newly adopted JIR corporate unsaleables policy. The new policy proved to be an effective tool for managing unsaleables. While the GMA national unsaleables rate steadily increased and or flattened over the past decade, Tree Top's unsaleables rate steadily declined and settled in well below the national rate. With Wesley Associates tracking Tree Top's unsaleable claims in their WEScan database, we always know the products with the highest rate of unsaleables as well as the customers and sales regions with the greatest percentage of spoils. Wesley monitors customers on policy to insure they correctly invoice accordingly to the agreement. Their weekly audits help to identify potential policy abuses or billing errors, which enables us to quickly communicate those concerns, often resulting with repays or other suitable resolution.

An unsaleables claim from a smaller retailer was reviewed and higher than normal quantities were found on two Seneca Foods' items. In reviewing the issue with the Regional Sales Manager, we discovered the sales volume on these items increased considerably during shipments around the holidays. Even though excess damages were discovered, it was concluded these items only represented a very small portion of incoming receipts. In a closing statement:

"I appreciate the concern and your company is doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing - keeping us up to date on unusual returns"

- JB/Regional Sales Team

Wesley and Associates has been a provider to QTG, a division of PepsiCo, for the past 10 years. Their quality of work in auditing our reclamation invoices has been outstanding. They continue to provide a superior level of knowledge within the Unsaleables arena. They excel in customer service and anticipating customer requests. I look forward to continuing utilizing Wesley's services for many more years and would certainly recommend their services to other CPG companies.

A customer invoice was found to have an unusually high amount of a particular Birds Eye product. It was so unusual for this customer that the Account Manager at Wesley Associates felt it could be some type of scanning/electronic error. Wesley Associates promptly contacted the customer, who verified that the quantity was incorrect and then contacted their reclamation center. It was found that the reclamation center had a computer glitch which caused the invoice to show 2,402 units returned when actually there were only 2 units returned. Wesley Associates collected $2,300 within a week on this supply chain issue and the customer corrected the glitch, preventing this scenario from happening over and over again.

Now , this is why we have a third party audit partner!! I ask our folks, "do you think WE would have ever caught this" ???? Great work!
